These terms

poddub is operated by Seats at, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. These terms cover the poddub iPhone app, the poddub API, this site and the public show pages poddub serves for its customers.

Using poddub means accepting them. The app asks for that acceptance together with the privacy policy at an account's first sign-in.

Eligibility and accounts

poddub is sold to companies for their teams. You must be able to enter into a contract where you live, and you must use an email address you are allowed to use for your work.

Signing in is a code sent to that address. Keep hold of the address: whoever receives the code reaches the account.

An organization's owners and admins decide who belongs to it, what each person may do and what is published. Joining an organization means accepting that.

You are responsible for what happens under your account.

What is sold

poddub is sold as monthly subscriptions in the App Store. A plan is a number of seats and the generation minutes that come with them: every seat carries 60 minutes a month.

Renewal, cancellation and refunds

Subscriptions are monthly and renew until they are cancelled. The purchase, the renewal, the cancellation and any refund are Apple's, in the App Store, not poddub's; poddub is told which plan an organization has and when it expires.

There is no free trial at launch.

Minutes are counted when a script is approved and its audio is rendered, and they are given back when a rendering fails. An organization with no minutes left can still listen; it cannot generate.

An organization with no subscription keeps the free tier, which is one seat and no generation.

Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs the app itself. It has no subscription section: renewal, cancellation and refunds are the App Store's rules, and everything about the service is here.

What you put in, and what comes out

What your organization pastes in, and the episodes generated from it, are your organization's. You must have the right to use what you paste, and you must not paste anything unlawful, anything that infringes somebody else's rights, or personal data you have no right to send.

Do not use poddub to impersonate a person or a company, to make a voice meant to be taken for a real person's, to mislead anyone about who is speaking, or for anything unlawful.

An organization answers for what it publishes. Releasing an episode to a public show puts it on the open internet under that organization's name.

The voices are generated

Every episode is spoken by a generated voice, from a fixed set of stock voices. Every episode opens by saying so, and the same sentence is carried in the feed and on any public page. An organization can reword it and cannot remove it.

Generated text can be wrong. That is what the review step is for: what an episode says is the organization's, not poddub's.

Reports and hiding

Every public show page carries a way to report a show or an episode, and the app carries the same control on anything it shows. A report reaches the operator and the organization's owners and admins.

The operator may hide a reported public release or a reported public show, which takes it off the public feed and the public page. Only the operator lifts a hide.

Episodes that were never released publicly are outside this: a report about one reaches the organization's admins, whose own tool is to unpublish it.

Ending it

You can delete your account in the app at any time. If you are the only owner of an organization with other members, make another member an owner first; an organization where you are the only member is deleted with your account.

Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel that in the App Store.

poddub may suspend or end access for an account or an organization that breaks these terms.

Intellectual property

poddub, its software, its design and its name belong to Seats at, LLC. Nothing here gives you a right to any of that beyond using the service.

What your organization puts in, and the episodes generated from it, stay your organization's. poddub holds and processes them to run the service, as the privacy policy sets out.

No warranty

poddub is provided as it is. So far as the law allows, Seats at, LLC makes no warranty about it: not that it will be uninterrupted, not that it will be free of errors, and not that anything it generates will be accurate or fit for any particular purpose.

Some places do not allow every one of these exclusions. There, they apply only as far as they are allowed.

Limitation of liability

So far as the law allows, Seats at, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, arising out of the use of poddub.

So far as the law allows, total liability for any claim is limited to what was paid for poddub in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here excludes a liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes to these terms

These terms can change. The text on this page is the current one, and using poddub after a change accepts it. A change to how content is processed changes the privacy policy too, and that one asks you to accept the provider list again in the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and a dispute about them is heard by the courts of the State of Delaware.
